Marketing Manager


The Issue: One-fifth of all properties and one-third of commercial properties in the UK are at risk of flooding. Flood-related damages cost the UK a staggering £1.3 billion annually and are expected to increase five-fold by 2050. According to latest estimates these costs could have been reduced by half with improved flood forecasting and preparation. However, existing forecasting methods have fallen short when it comes to the unpredictable nature of storms. Hourly shifts in weather patterns can give rise to floods that escape detection through conventional means.

The Solution: At Previsico, our goal is to diminish the impact of floods on individuals and organizations by half. Our cutting-edge tech, honed since 2001 and incubated at Loughborough University until five years ago, has revolutionized flood forecasting. It allows for highly accurate real-time alerting, empowering individuals and businesses to prepare effectively, thereby minimizing, and in some cases, preventing damage and disruptions.

The Results: We more than doubled our revenues in 2023 and our services are now supporting over 200 clients within the insurance, private, and utilities sectors, including Zurich, Liberty, and United Utilities. In 2023, we secured additional funding earmarked to turbocharge our growth through the expansion of Marketing function. Consequently, we are on the lookout for a motivated marketing professional to join our dynamic team.

The role

As a Marketing Manager at Previsico, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive B2B marketing strategies to generate leads, brand awareness, supporting sales objectives. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver impactful campaigns across digital, PR, partner marketing, events, and lead nurturing initiatives. In addition to overseeing various marketing initiatives, you will provide mentorship and guidance to a junior marketing associate, fostering their growth and development within the team.

Key tasks

  1. Digital marketing: Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and online advertising, to increase brand visibility and drive MQLs and website traffic.
  2. PR management: Work closely with PR agencies to develop and execute PR strategies, including media relations, press releases, thought leadership articles, and speaking opportunities, to enhance Previsico's reputation and media coverage.
  3. Partner marketing: Collaborate with strategic partners, including government agencies, insurance providers, large commercial companies and technology integrators, to develop
    joint marketing initiatives, co-branded campaigns, and promotional activities that drive mutual value and support sales objectives.
  4. Events management: Plan, coordinate, and execute participation in industry events, conferences, webinars, and trade shows. Manage event logistics, booth setup, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and post-event follow-up to maximize ROI and generate leads.
  5. Lead nurturing: Implement lead nurturing workflows and automation processes to engage leads throughout the sales funnel. Develop targeted email sequences, drip campaigns, and personalized messaging to move prospects through the buyer's journey. Coordinate with sales teams to ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads.
  6. Data analysis and reporting: Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lead generation efforts. Utilize data insights to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Prepare regular reports and presentations for management stakeholders, highlighting campaign results and ROI.
  7. Team leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to the marketing team, with a specific focus on content creation, setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative environment to drive team success.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B marketing roles, with a focus on digital marketing, PR management, partner marketing and events management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working in the technology/SaaS is a plus.

Pay and working arrangements

  • Salary will be competitive, reflecting the candidate’s skills and experience.
  • 5% of salary in share options.
  • 33 days holiday including statutory Bank Holidays.
  • The position is based in our London office although we will consider flexible working arrangements.
