We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sensor Operations Lead to join our growing team. As a technology scale-up we are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual, with experience in subcontractor management and service delivery with a passion for supporting communities and organisations globally to improve their resilience to flood. The Sensor Operations Lead will be responsible for day-to-day operational aspects of the delivery of Previsico’s sensor solutions in the UK, including but not limited to overseeing device installations and maintenance operations, and associated activities.
Responsibilities
As the Sensor Operations Lead, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Overseeing day-to-day operational aspects of sensors delivery and maintenance within the UK, supporting other geographies, as appropriate.
• Managing UK-specific supply chain and subcontractor partners to ensure an expedient high-quality service is delivered to customers, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Undertaking site audits to ensure pre- and post-installation works are completed to an appropriate standard.
• Tightly align with Previsico’s IoT Systems Manager to ensure the business has a robust and market-leading offering for sensors. Responsibilities will include supporting 1) operational process refinement and implementation, 2) development and implementation of new and refinement of existing products and services and 3) creation of business cases to facilitate company growth.
• Tightly align with Previsico’s IoT Specialists to detect and respond to issues on the network, coordinating subcontractors and liaising directly with customers as appropriate to rectify issues in an expedient manner, providing excellent customer service.
• Building, nurturing and owning relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors, as appropriate.
• Managing and developing sub-contractor networks in the UK.
• Owning responsibility for supporting customers during consenting processes prior to installation(s) (e.g. with environmental regulatory bodies and third-party land owners), as appropriate.
• Align with the wider sensors team to approve proposed technical solutions offered by subcontractors.
• Supporting and/or delivering subcontractor training, as appropriate and with support from the wider sensors team.
• Ensuring effective adoption and utilisation of Previsico’s field service management system(s).
• Align and support Previsico’s accounts team, ensuring customers are expediently quoted and invoiced for works, and sensor-specific finance-related process are followed.
• Attendance of stakeholder events and tradeshows to market Previsico and nurture/create business opportunities.
• Providing sales team technical support where required to progress sales and relationships.
• Bid and technical report writing, as appropriate.
• Developing comprehensive understanding of the sensor market and keeping a tight handle on emerging technologies and how they could feed into the company’s operations.
• Tightly align with internal and external sales & marketing teams to ensure Previsico have a robust commercial offering for sensors. Work will include the creation/co-creation of sales/marketing materials and support of sales teams – providing advice and guidance on suitable targets and sales strategies – as appropriate.
Person specification
You should demonstrate competence in most (preferably all) of the following:
• Knowledge and/or experience of the use of sensors for environmental monitoring in commercial settings (experience in and/or knowledge of flood and/or hydrological monitoring techniques highly desirable).
• Experience of developing and/or managing supply chain networks.
• Experience of developing and/or managing installations teams in the environmental sector.
• Experience in technical and commercial report writing.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Passion for reducing the impact of natural hazards, globally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to attend conferences and events.
• Creativity and enthusiasm to overcome challenges and create new opportunities.
• A tenacity and drive to meet or exceed targets.
• Sales and/or business development experience.
Pay and working arrangements
• Salary will be a competitive base salary with bonus and share options.
• The position is based in our Loughborough office although we will consider flexible working arrangements.
