Graduate Sales Specialist

The opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Sales Specialist to join our growing team. As a technology start-up we are looking for a go-getter who is eager to learn everything there is about flood forecasting and how to improve resilience to floods globally. You will be focussed on developing and fostering relationships with insurance and commercial customers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our COO, Business Development Manager and CEO to generate new sales leads
  • Building a relationship with clients and giving prompt attention to their requests
  • Organising and tracking sales relationships and ensuring targets are met
  • Keeping up to date on the latest technological developments in flood forecasting and resilience building
  • Travelling to client locations for face-to-face meetings.
  • Other tasks in the sales and marketing team to support client growth.

Person Specification

You should demonstrate competence in all the following:

  • Experience with understanding customer needs
  • Passion for reducing the impact of natural hazards globally
  • Interest in the latest science and technology
  • Creativity and enthusiasm to create new opportunities
  • A tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
  • An excellent written, verbal skills and a personable telephone manner
  • Initiative and organisational skills to start things from scratch

Pay and working arrangements

  • Salary will be £25-30,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus commission and an equity stake in the company.
  • The position is based either in our Loughborough or London office although we will consider flexible working arrangements. The applicant will need to have the right to work in the UK.
