Maddy and Harry both embark on Master’s degrees following internships

Harry (left) and MAddy (right) both played a major role in helping us launch our UK-wide solution

As part of Previsico’ close relationship with the University of Loughborough, internships can be offered to interested students aiming to get valuable work experience in the field of GIS and environmental applications.

During July and August, Harry Oldknow, an enthusiastic geography graduate completed a successful internship at Previsico. He worked alongside Dr.Dapeng Yu streamlining processes increasing the efficiency of GIS workflows. His out-of-the-box thinking was crucial in the development of the UK’s first national live surface water forecasting project to be completed mid-October 2019. He is now in Glasgow, where he is pursuing a MSc in Geographical Information Systems, and we wish him all the best in that endeavour!

A second internship was completed by Maddy Henderson, who is an outstanding geography graduate in September. Being familiar with Dr. Dapeng Yu software, having completed his lectures at the University of Loughborough, she was well positioned to help Previsico
calibrate the UK’s first national live surface water forecasting project to be completed mid- October 2019. Additionally, she has been proven invaluable in researching best practice methodologies on scaling up our capabilities using geospatial analysis and techniques. She is remaining in Loughborough, where she is expected to complete her integrated Msc in Physical Geography and we wish her all the best in that pursuit!
